ShapeAccelArray™
Unattended 3D Slope Monitoring
Autonomous Geotechnical Arrays for soil and structure monitoring produce data similar to an SI plot, with a bonus of vibration and dynamic shape, but without on-site visits.

  • 3D Shape Measurement & Alarm…ShapeAccelArray measures x, y, and z components of shape, typically at 104 points in 104 feet (31.7 m). Out-of-limit tilts trigger "Tilt Alarm Mode," used to collect dynamic shape data. Vertical and Horizontal installations are done with the same array.

  • 3D Vibration Measurement & Alarm…Out-of-limit Vibrations trigger "Vib Alarm Mode," used to collect high-speed Tilt and Vib data from the array for earthquake or construction analysis.

  • Complete In-place System...ShapeAccelArray is a waterproof, calibrated array of hundreds of sensors, less than 1" (25 mm) in diameter that arrives on a reel, ready for insertion in a borehole, typically near a Measurand Solar-Powered Earth Station with wireless Cellnet connectivity.

  • Autonomous, wireless operation...ShapeAccelArray installations collect 3D slope data at set-able intervals for months or years. Onboard data are uploaded periodically to an FTP site using GPRS Cellnet (other data transfer options available). Most field arrays use a Measurand Solar-Powered Earth Station (other power options available).

New Technology:
Measurand, a company with over fifteen years of experience measuring 3D data in automotive, military, space, and biomedical environments, has for the last three years been applying its patented methods to high-sensor-density arrays of importance to geotechnical and civil measurements. The same methods that measure the shape of a human arm are now being used, with new MEMS sensor technology, to accurately monitor static and dynamic shape and vibration in soil and civil structures.
